High Folate

Postby skippychick » Tue Apr 21, 2009 12:58 pm

Is it an issue?

My test results were:

7/10/08 - Serum B12 142
Folate over 20
12/11/08 - Serum iron 11.3
16/1/09 - Serum B12 471
Folate over 20

I have had about 15 injections of B12 since November 08, since finding out I was low on B12. Injections started twice weekly and then spaced out to monthly from Christmas and are now fortnightly soon to become weekly as I am symptomatic again.

Thanks, Sarah.

Just wondering why my folate is so high and whether that's an issue?

I am a support person for my daughter who was diagnosed with PA and Folate Anaemia in 1994, at the age of 27. Another daughter diagnosed with Hashimotos 2010 but she doesn't have PA.

That makes sense Pat, thanks! It appears folate is the one thing I can absorb  (along with fat and calories!)
