Itchy palms of hands and soles of feet

Postby FLOWANNA123 » Tue Aug 09, 2011 8:35 am

Hello everyone

Not only do I have Pernicious Anaemia I also have Coeliac Disease.

I am following a wheat and gluten free diet and I have B12 jabs every 6 weeks.

At the moment I am awaiting my jab which is booked for next week. I am extremely tired and for 4 days I have had itchy palms of hands soles of feet.

I wondered if anyone else suffers this. Night time it is worse !!!!

Hiya
Yes I get the itchy hands and feet, especially feet and it drives me mad as I don't seem to be able to itch them, its like I can't find or reach the right spot or something! It comes and goes I don't get it every day.

I'm wheat and gluten free too. I think with me its a wheat allergy as I get runny nose, watery eyes, a rash and a cough as soon as I eat it. I can't be tested for coeliac because I've not eaten it for a year. They are both auto-immune diseases so PA and coeliac often come together it seems!

I don't have coeliacs but I too get itchy although it's not a common thing with me. Sometimes the inside of my ears itch, my feet or hands. I actually find my ears bug me the most and typing this has just made them start itching

Mind over matter helps me, transfer a frustrating noise mentally to something nice, saying to myself its like being on a plane, going on holliday, nice warm sun, green sea, white sand.... works for me concerning a low frequency hum I can hear, particularly at night. If my feet burn, bottom of leggs feel prickly, I can attack it with a sugar/ salt schrub, then body butter and hey presto my leggs and feet are glowing, nice and soft, clean etc so I'm happy with the feeling I then have..If I have an insect bite I will put a deep cross into it with my nail, this hurts a bit, but after that no itch..Marre.

Hi there, I don't suffer from itchy palms or soles of feet, but do suffer from itchy ear canal and it is nice to know I am not alone. After going back and for to the ENT specialist for a couple of years (and trying various drops and ointments) they finally sent me for skin sensitivity testing. Turns out I am highly sensitive to nickel. Not a problem I thought, haven't been able to wear earrings for years and don't think any of my shampoos contain nickel.

When feeling particularly rubbish one day (after significant and prolongued improvement) for some reason I thought I would check if I was exposing myself to nickel through my kettle (I had revert to using an old kettle as I broke the new one and this was the only thing I could figure out that was different in my environment/diet) since suffering a set back. Turns out kettle elements contain nickel. Swapped to an element free kettle, cut out tea (which is also high in nickel apparently) and not only did I feel much better within about a week, but over a bit longer amount of time I realised my ears were a lot, lot better!!!! Have since been discharged from the ENT specialist, to our mutual relief I think. :)

Nice to see you posting again, Louise. :) Thanks for reminding us that metal sensitivity is an issue to be addressed. I had no idea that tea contains nickle. :o
