Becoming a member of the Pernicious Anaemia Society brings both tangible and intangible benefits to you.

The Tangible benefits of becoming a member include:

  • Being able to Post a Question on the popular Online Forum where other sufferers will be able to answer your post.
  • Having access to our Telephone Helpline staffed by Jane our qualified Nurse Counsellor who operates a call-back service.
  • Receive our regular Newsletter, Cobalamin News, either via email or as hard copy.
  • Gain access to our Downloadable Information Leaflets from the website.
  •  Become eligible to join local Support Groups.
The intangible benefits are just as important.
The more members that we have the more people will listen to us.  It has become obvious to us that there is an urgent need for a review of the Diagnosis and Treatment of Pernicious Anaemia.  Unfortunately we still have a long way to go before all medical professionals will listen to us and take note.  And it isn’t just medical professionals that we need to convince that there are serious questions that are unanswered relating to PA.  The society is hard at work pushing our cause onto the political agenda and, whilst we have a way to go yet, the initial political lobbying undertaken by the society has already made some important politicians listen to what we have to say.  The more members we have, the more they are likely to listen.

The £20 joining fee is a lifetime one-off payment made using secure servers.  The fee is used to cover the cost of renting our small one-room office.  The society is staffed entirely by volunteers.

The Pernicious Anaemia Society does not currently recieve any government funding. If you have found our website or the society helpful please consider making a donation, no matter how large or small, everything helps.
